Maharashtra Agribusiness Network (MAGNET), a project of the Government of Maharashtra assisted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), intends to increase the income of small and marginal farmers in the State. The project focuses on selectively focused horticultural crops, namely banana, pomegranate, orange, sweet lemon, custard apple, guava, sapota, strawberry, okra, chilly (green & red), flowers, mango, lemon, cashew nut, and snake gourd. Considering MANAVLOKs large work for custard apples in the drought-prone Beed district, the available expert team and available infrastructure (MAGNET) signed an MoU as the Center of Excellence (CoE). MANAVLOK will be responsible as a center of excellence for the development of the custard apple value chain in Beed district for various activities such as training of trainers, preparation of training material, and pre and post training surveys under the MAGNET project.
