Drought proofing in the region is done by carrying out tree plantations. It helps in increasing green vegetation, preventing soil erosion, providing means of livelihood for marginal farmers, and mitigating the impacts of climate change.
The Drought Proofing through Dense Tree Plantation Project is being implemented in two districts- Beed and Osmanabad. Within Beed, the project is being carried out in Bhavthana Village of Ambajogai block and Pisegaon Village in Kaij Block. In Osmanabad, the project site is Salegaon village in Lohara Block.
